Stewardship Commission

We are invited to respond to God’s abundance by being joyful stewards of all God has given to each of us to do the work that God is calling all of us to do. Faithful stewardship involves giving of our time, talent and treasure in thanksgiving to God and for the mission and ministry of the church. It is an invitation to joy, not merely a duty or an obligation. Stewardship is an expression of our love affair with God in which we are privileged to give to the Beloved who has given all to us. At the heart of it is the Biblical teaching of the tithe, given to us as a minimum guide for our financial giving to God. This is not a legalistic standard. Tithing is a transformational act of stewardship, which changes our hearts, freeing us to be generous and cheerful givers. It empowers the church to be a celebrative community of faith and mission. Finally, stewardship is a bold commitment to the call of Christ to “build my church.” All of our giving is for mission and ministry. It is through the generous stewardship of each of us that the Body of Christ is equipped to do the work of the Gospel in the world.

Administrative Committee

This committee consists of the Rector, Senior Warden, immediate past Senior Warden, the three vestry members responsible for oversight of the SWEEPS Commissions. Other members of the congregation may be asked to serve on subcommittees of the Administrative Committee.  They are responsible for assisting the Rector and the Vestry in the administration of the Parish.  It oversees the adequacy and use of office equipment, provides advise to the Rector or other committees as requested, works with the Vestry in planning for the Seder, provides oversight for the nursery and drafts needed "position papers" for parish policies, proposals for diocesan consideration, etc.

The Nursery is available during the late service on Sunday mornings and on some special meetings during the week.  There are always at least two people in the nursery to care for the children and to assist the parents.  The nursery is made available to allow parents who wish to have a time to worship without the close care of their children and yet allowing them to have the peace of mind that their children are well cared for.  The Greeter will go to the Parish House to assist the nursery workers bring the children to the church in time for them to be present for communion.
